Bellingham, an active ferry and deep-sea port is the most
southern terminal for the ferries to Alaska.
Located
in Whatcom County 30 minutes south of the US/Canada Peace
Arch border and 90 minutes north of Seattle, Bellingham consciously
caters to and welcomes travellers on the way to, or from the
ferries to Alaska and to British Columbia.
In addition to being the terminal for the Alaska ferry, Bellingham
used to be "home base" for the popular Bellingham to Friday Harbor seasonal ferry service and the May-September ferry Bellingham to Victoria.
Unfortunately both the Friday Harbor & the Victoria ferry services are now cancelled but have been replaced with a very popular day long Bellingham - Friday Harbor whale watching cruise.
